Eng. Neves Xavier, is an Electrical engineer from the University of Eduardo Mondlane. He Joined EDM in 2001. Neves holds a post graduate degree in Business Administration from Wutivi University. Mr. Neves is currently the EDM Director responsible for Generation.

In this role he manages EDM Generation Planning, Operation and Maintenance Activities, for hydro and thermal powerplants. Neves bring to the board a wealth of management and technical experience. Prior to his current role, Neves was a Regional and Distribution Director responsible for the planning, operations, and maintenance in Xai-xai, Quelimane, Beira and Maputo regions.

Mr. Neves is also a holder of numerous leadership and professional courses including Grid management, Safety, Electrical distribution. He also participated in many projects within EDM including Maputo control centre, Rural Electrification and Maputo underground power network. Neves is fluent in both Portuguese and English.
